3rd World Grappling Championships and 4th World Pankration Championships in Cracow

On March 27th - 28th the Polish Grappling Committee with a record participation of 23 countries organized the 3rd World Grappling Championships and 4th World Pankration Championships in Cracow.

The growth and popularity of FILA grappling is reflected by a record number of 23 participating countries. FILA Grappling welcomes first time Nations Germany, Sweden, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia and South Africa.

The top 8 athletes in selected weight classes at this event won qualification for The SportsAccord Combat Games to be held in Beijing, China.

3° World Grappling Championship - Fabulous performance of the host team Poland with 12 medals in the 13 divisions of the Gi competition. An exciting event full of surprises! Top 5 teams: POL - USA - FRA - SWE - HUN

4° World Pankration Championship - Also a record participation of 18 countries and a tremendous improvement in the level of the fights and refereeing. Top 5 teams: UKR - RUS - USA - ITA - SRB
